Day 19,816

I’m a bit of a mess tonight.

My wife had surgery this morning. I had to work, so Bonnie and Gracie took her over to the hospital to help her out, be there, get her checked in, and stick around while they were performing what was supposed to be a simple outpatient procedure.

Two things.

I screwed up this morning. I didn’t give Lisa the send off to the hospital she deserved, I was selfish, thinking everything was going to be cool because it was a simple outpatient procedure, and I didn’t take it as seriously as I should have.

I regret the way that went.  I have to own it. I need to find a way to make up for it.

Her procedure turned out to be more complicated than we had planned.

That compounded my screw up.

We had all thought that Lisa would be home late in the afternoon, chilling with the family and dogs, but as fate would have it, she’s in the hospital overnight.

I hate sleeping in our bed without her.

We’re hoping she’ll be able to come home tomorrow.

In the meantime, we need to make sure the house is in decent shape for her for when she comes home.

I’m saying a few extra prayers tonight. For my wife.
And for me. I need to be a better me.

Peace y’all.
